Proposed Itinerary (Subject to change):
Friday: Arrive in Guatemala City
Saturday: Breakfast at the Barcelo Hotel, Iximche Ruins (the last Mayan settlement built in Guatemala), travel to Panajachel, Guatemala.
Sunday: Church in Panajachel. Walking tour of Panajachel. On our walk we will see cathedrals, Lake Atitlan, markets and go on the “Onion Hike”
Monday: Visit Faith Seeds and the Quetzaltenango dump. Faith seeds is an organization which helps educate the children whose parents work at the Quetzaltenango City Dump.
Tuesday: Cultural Day on Lake Atitlan visiting the towns of San Juan and San Marcos.
Wednesday: Day with Cultiva International installing garden boxes with families of indigenous Mayan families.
Thursday: Visit rural Guatemalan schools and teach the children how to brush and floss properly, distribute oral hygiene kits and enjoy the universal language of laughter.
Friday: Spend the day at Eagle’s Nest Orphanage. Spend the day volunteering at the orphanage doing service projects, playing with the orphans and doing whatever service the orphanage needs.
Saturday: Travel back to Guatemala City and fly home.
